Lemonelle inspiration – past present and future synth-pop perfection
We’ve spent some time having a think about our favourite synth-pop tracks over the years and thought ‘who wouldn’t want to hear these grooves too?’
So here’s 50 tracks of party-ready bangers, guaranteed to make you bop your head around. Check it out on Spotify here.
Highlights:
Cloud 22 was always one that really got under our skin. All about living in a dream, and how easy it is to just stay in the fantasy land because it’s warm and fuzzy and lush. Coming back to reality can be pretty rough: call it a comedown, a hangover… or maybe there’s just something really sh*t happening. Sometimes it’s just too easy to live in this dream.
Life’s What you Make It – Talk Talk
Reminds us of balmy Summers playing beer festivals in the countryside. Hauling drum kits and leads and mics and XLRs in and out of car boots. Navigating through crowds in green fields. Cheap wine, genuine smiles. Driving home after 45-minute slots with this on full blast.
The coffee shop around the back from the rehearsal studio always had this track on. Sipping lemon and ginger tea from blue mugs. Singing along with this as we plotted the next move: the admin side of musicianship. Still makes us smile.
Always on in the old Canning Town flat. Doors wide open echoing around the brick courtyard outside (the neighbours loved us - maybe?). You cannot help but feel like a boss listening to this. Also highly recommended for driving.
You Spin Me Round – Dead or Alive
Standard pre-drink soundtrack. Applied best before nights in 229, The Water Rats, The Forum, The Underbelly, Esquires, The Black Heart etc.
